My name is Kawēkiu, and I am the founder of Nūʻoli Designs, your new partner in creating a truly intentional and joyful wedding experience here in Honolulu. As a wedding designer on Oʻahu for over seven years, I’ve walked alongside countless couples, but my journey to this work didn’t start in the industry—it started at home, with my G-Ma (Grandma).

My grandmother had a gift. She could turn any gathering into a celebration that radiated a lasting, tangible joy. Standing beside her in the kitchen, decorating for birthdays and holidays, I learned that events are so much more than just parties. They are sacred moments where joy becomes something you can almost touch and hold.
That seed of joy she planted took root in me. It grew through my own creativity, flourished as I planned my own wedding, and blossomed as I helped friends and family with their celebrations. What began as a love for beautiful details slowly grew into a clear calling: I wasn’t just meant to plan events; I was meant to guide couples.

For me, this work is a ministry. It’s my privilege to help couples see that there is a God who loves them without limit, gives grace without measure, and delights when two people say “yes” to each other and “yes” to Him.

You might be wondering about the name. Nūʻoli (pronounced nu-OH-lee) is the Hawaiian word for “Joyful News.”
I chose this name with purpose. My original dream was to bring the "joyful news" of God's love into every event I designed. I wanted each celebration to carry a touch of eternal, never-fading joy—a glimpse of His goodness woven into every moment.
As my path naturally shifted from general event design to dedicated wedding planning, the name felt more fitting than ever. Why? Because a Christ-centered marriage, one that begins with a covenant and is built on a solid foundation, is the most beautiful "Joyful News" I can imagine. My mission remains the same; the purpose has deepened.
